Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve

Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve protects 227 acres of Texas Hill Country native habitat. The preserve is co-owned and co-managed by Travis County and St. Edward’s University and serves as a valuable resource for research, education, and conservation.

Wild Basin is also home to rare and vulnerable species, including the federally endangered Golden-cheeked Warbler. The preserve is part of the larger Balcones Canyonlands Preserve, which protects habitat for endangered species and species of concern.

This application helps researchers and staff explore trail camera images, OCR metadata, and SpeciesNet wildlife detections. The goal is to make large-scale wildlife image data easier to search, review, and use for ecological research.
